BECOME A FOSTER PARENT IN SIX STEPS

All types of foster parents are needed and we are here to help you along the way. Being a successful foster parent is hard work and it requires opening yourself and your home. Yet, foster parenting can be the most rewarding work you ever do.  The most important part, of course, is working with children and their families.  Foster care also involves partnering with social workers, schools and community resources to meet an infant, child or young person’s needs.  All types of people make good foster parents as we all have our own special talents, but keep in mind that foster parenting is not for everyone.  When ready, take the steps below to start the process to become a foster parent.           

ADOPTION

Youth In View is committed to finding children permanent, loving homes. It can seem scary to consider adopting a teenager, or a sibling group of three or more but these children require a high level of commitment, patience, and understanding. Teenagers, children from diverse backgrounds and those with emotional needs are often waiting the longest to be adopted. Youth In view will guide you through the process and equip you with the training to nurture and love any child. They will thrive in a loving home.  When ready, take the steps below to start the process to become an adoptive or foster parent.

2. Return Inquiry Packet
3. Attend Orientation
4. Return Application & Questionnaire and Complete Remaining Paperwork
5. Inspections
6. Complete 35 hours of pre-service
